I haven't seen any mention of this on the various e-lists, but for those who didn't happen to catch Tomas Moran on Flashpoints during the last 15 minutes of the show today, he discussed the Double Secret PNB Emergency Phone Meeting that occurred Wednesday evening.

Apparently, MF Berry has instructed Micheal Palmer and Bertram Lee to contact friendlies in the five station areas to establish what essentially would be “shadow” LABs. They don't have the nerve to try to dissolve the LABs as suspected, so they will just circumvent them, and especially circumvent the upcoming LAB elections at KPFA.

Turns out the meeting had nothing to do with the lawsuits, or personnel, or any of the usual things that are properly done in executive session.

If you missed it and would like to hear it, KFCF archives streaming audio of the previous 24 hours of programming, in 30-minute chunks at its Web site: http://www.kfcf.org.

In the left-hand frame, there is a link for “audio archives.” If you have RealAudio or WinAmp MP3 streaming software, you should be able to get this with no problem. Click the link, and it will take you to a grid showing the broadcast day divided into 30 minute increments. Click the 5:30 p.m. link, and Tomas' segment should be about 15 minutes into the block.

I've asked Mark Hernandez to burn it to CD, so we should be able to make it available for even later listening. As the archive is only for a 24-hour period, you will only be able to get the archived block until about 6 p.m. PDT Friday. It's important as many people hear Tomas' report of the phone meeting as possible.

The above link has expired, but you can go here to listen to the relevant portion of the program as outlined above.

If you want to download the 7.6 MB .MP3 file of this to listen to on your own right click here.

If you'd prefer to read an unofficial transcript of the meeting you can read it here. You could of course use the transcript to follow along.
