The following resolution was adopted by those present at the Union meeting on February 5, 2001.

On January 24, WBAI station Management issued a memo barring any producer from on-air discussion of station business, policy or personnel, including announcing meetings, or facilitating such discussion by others. We oppose this and view it as anti-democratic and contrary to the spirit of listener-supported, free-speech radio. We abhor personal attacks on any of our WBAI colleagues. But this cannot be used as an excuse to suppress dissent. Barring discussion of station policy is unacceptable and constitutes censorship.
