WBAI LSB Meeting — August 25, 2004

The thirteenth WBAI Local Station Board (LSB) meeting was held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at 6:30 PM at the Harlem State Office Building in Manhattan. This is not an official Web page of the LSB.

WBAI Management provided a public address system, and someone to run it. The Secretary recorded what she could on a Mini-Disc again.

Thanks to long time Pacifica activist and California attorney Gregory Wonderwheel's legal expertise we found a way to excuse Lawrence Lucas' 9 absences in a row, and we did so. The faction, of course, continues to try and say they forced the LSB to do it, even though the motion brought by one of their members at this Meeting was a mess and I had to rephrase it to work. That member wanted the motion to work, and not just disrupt the meeting, right?

And Lawrence Lucas even showed up at this meeting.

The faction tried to amend the motion about waivers passed at the previous meeting so as to allow infinite waivers to be granted. Of course this motion failed. I think that the faction intended for it to fail so they could grandstand as trying to protect the poor, who are so very interested in voting in the WBAI election.

This meeting also started the fight about the structuring ofm the General Manager Search Sub-committee.

Here is the newsletter I wrote for the WBAI Staff about this meeting

Here are the approved minutes of this meeting in Microsoft Word format.
