WBAI LSB Meeting — November 30, 2004

The twentieth WBAI Local Station Board (LSB) meeting was held on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at 6:30 PM at the Penn South Community Center Manhattan. This is not an official Web page of the LSB.

WBAI Management did not provide a public address system. The Secretary recorded what she could on a Mini-Disc again.

This was the last meeting of the first WBAI LSB. The new LSB commences at the next meeting.

We approved the minutes from the previous meeting, and also some minutes from the executive session held on March 4, 2004. The LSB lifted the secrecy from the executive session meeting of March 4, 2004. Here are the minutes of that executive session portion of that meeting. The bottom line is that a prominent WBAI personality took the cash receipts of WBAI's Riverside 9/11 event and gave them to someone he knew. After the LSB began an investigation into this the money was returned to the station, eight months after it had been taken.

This meeting saw a first, a disrupter was removed after he just woldn't stop.

After a compromise was reached with USOC a motion regarding the General Manager Search Sub- committee was passed, several other motions were passed, including one that addressed LSB member decorum, and a faction leader gave notice that he was going to move to rescind all of them at the next meeting.

Here is the newsletter I wrote for the WBAI Staff about the November 30, 2004 LSB meeting
